Crooked Road Technology Center
The Crooked Road Technology Center (CRTC) was constructed to attract cutting-edge technology companies to Scott County. As part of the Phase 2 build-out, our team was asked to completely redesign the campus plantings to give the building more of a contemporary feel while reducing maintenance and overcoming challenging growing conditions on site. The response employed thousands of native grasses and perennials, many of which grow naturally on the poor soil surrounding the site. Trees were transplanted from adjacent Scott County Economic Development Authority property, and existing plant material from Phase I was re-purposed elsewhere on site to assuage financial loss. Not only is the landscape aesthetically pleasing, but many different species of fauna can be spotted within what is now a primarily native habitat.
